Fishing

Fishing has been an important part of history of the Rye Island from ancient times. The most famous fish living here from old times includes carp, muskellunge, asp, goldfish, tench, and goatfish. In back-waters and flowing waters of the Rye Island can be found also such rare and unique protected species, such as mudminnow and clingfish.

Fans of sports fishing can fish out sizeable and valuable catch also in dradging ponds of the Rye Island.

In recent years private ponds are accessible as well, which promise, after paying of certain fee, a guaranteed catch.
